4. Victory and Competitive Desire

Being competitive is about hating to lose and the thrill of outdoing an opponent. Though this trait may be more dominant in certain individuals, it is an innate power of the soul. As it manifests itself in the sports arena or the workplace, the drive to compete and to win may be an expression of ego. But the spiritual root of competitive desire possesses great potential, and when awakened, can be applied in a multitude of positive contexts.

The primary step in overcoming any challenge posed by the inner opponent is awakening the fighting spirit, the inborn desire to compete and to find victory. We will discuss how to awaken this desire, embrace the battle, and keep the inspiration alive.
